February 20, 2008 - Snowy Day Bokeh

White House Bokeh - 51/366

It was snowing after work today, so I was afraid that I'd miss the lunar eclipse. So, since I had to take pictures of something, I went around the national mall and took photos for about an hour and a half. This is my most artistic, although I really enjoy my 'timeless' washington monument shots seen here

This is a type of technique called 'Bokeh' where you use blur to tell a 'mini-story' with the photo. This photo just really came out better than I hoped - you can tell it's the white house in the background but the front is not completely in focus, so your eyes are led to the background. I think it's just an overall interesting way to see something familiar.
