I had to go to Comcast in Northeast today and on the way I passed the Children's Hospital in DC. This is a shot of the blue sky and clouds reflecting in the glass. I think it came out beautiful.
I walked around Seaton St, which is one block north of U Street. There were a lot of cookie-cutter type row homes with lots of colors. But, this one caught my eye because of all the different colors on the bricks. These are two different homes but the top left and bottom right and the top right and bottom left are all the same paint colors. Interesting.
I moved a lot of my clothes and big furniture items into my new apartment. I was lacking on time for a good shot today so I took this with my lightscoop.
Nothing exciting with this one really. I moved all the large furniture out of my apartment today and saw this outlet that I havent seen in a while since it was blocked by my bed.
Like I said, it's not great and I am still sore from my frisbee tournament.
Our ultimate season came to an end today in the round-robin tournament. We played 4 games in a span of 8 hours (9-6 pm). We won 2 out of the 4, even though we expected to lose all 4! It wasnt quite enough to make it into the finals on Sunday, but I am so sore that I didnt feel like playing in it anyways. This is a shot that is of me and tracey, my co-captain. I didnt take this shot myself, but I provided all the settings and someone else actually clicked it.
I didnt have a lot of time on Friday to take photos - I had work all day and I couldnt bring my camera since I had to go to the FBI building, a happy hour and then dinner plans at 7. So I snapped this really quickly. I like it because it's a little bit different angle than most flowers.
There's nothing too exciting to describe about this photo but it's a shot looking directly into a lightbulb in my standing lamp. It does have a nice 'feel' to the shot though.
I had a few minutes of alone time on my busride home today. I've always kinda wanted a pic like this and I got it. It was a little tricky because the light kept changing, but this one came out well!
Another soggy weekend in DC. This time, it rained on Friday night. I went around my block on Saturday morning and saw thse beautiful purple leaves with raindrips being lit by a cloudy sky. I knew I had to get this shot. I probably took it 20 times before I got the perfect one.
After a long week all you want to do is come home and watch some TV. Well, my TV remote malfunctioned today. Have to change it by hand until I figure out what's wrong with it. ugh.
Taken with my new Light Scoop The light scoop attaches to the camera flash and bounces the flash similar to diffused light. It gets rid of shadows created by the flash.
Our kickball game was cancelled tonight because no one brought a ball for us to play. The last teams to play the previous week are supposed to bring it for the next game and they failed to do so. I was supposed to photograph the game, but there was none to be played. So, I snapped a few pregame shots and here is one of them.
I waited a really long time for my bus to come after work today so I took a photo of the metrobus information. That's just incase you want to come and meet me there next time :)
I've called for information - it's not useful at all.
My mom and I went and took a walk around the neighborhood in Delaware this morning. I picked up a dandelion and put it up to the sky. Came out pretty awesome!
I went home for the weekend to visit some college friends at UD for a picnic on Saturday. Afterwards, some of us went walking around campus before hitting up the bars.
This is a photo of east campus at University of Delaware. To the left are Russell Dorms. I love the UD Gates here. Converted to Sepia to give better detail to the gates
These are my new sunglasses that I picked up recently. I've never had a nice pair but these are my first. They are Oakleys and they are one of the few that fit my narrow face.
In post-processing, faded all the color out and sharpened the image for this blue-effect.
I love having a healthy snack when I come home from work. This is some Veggie and Flax Seed Tortilla Chips from Trader Joes with some Smoky, Spicy Peach Salsa. YUM!
I didnt want to the salsa to have that shine as it would when light hits it, so I turned off the lights, set up my tripod and took a long exposure shot of this.
I think if I were to do it again, I would not have the chips overflow from the plate.
